Bites from Smaller Breeds

Serving clients throughout New Jersey

A common misconception about David J. Cowhey's dog bite practice is that we seek to handle cases exclusively against larger, more aggressive breeds, such as pit bulls, Rottweilers, or mastiffs.  While it is true that these dogs make up a significant portion of the breeds responsible for attacks and injuries throughout the state, it is untrue that we do not handle claims involving smaller dogs.  Any breed of dog is certainly capable of attacking and injuring someone.  In a case Mr. Cowhey is currently handling, a smaller, "toy breed" dog inflicted an outwardly minor bite injury on a woman which ended up causing internal damage to her hand and ultimately required surgical intervention.  Pit bulls and Rottweilers are not the only dogs that bite.  Small breeds such as Chihuahas and dachshunds can cause serious damage as well.  Do not think that just because you were bitten by a small dog that you do not have a case.  Call David J.
